Claude LEVI-STRAUSS
100th Birthday
Claude Lévi-Strauss is one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century. After having pursued a degree in philosophy he became passionate about ethnology and left for Brasil as Professor of Sociology at the University of San Paolo.
Over the course of the following years he dedicated himself to the study of the Indian tribes of the Amazon.
To mark the publication of his works in the Bibliothèque de la Pléiade, the prestigious French book collection of Gallimard, and to celebrate his centenary next November 28th, Scala Archives is pleased to present to you 200 images depicting him & his work.
